Rick Perry’s Fundraising Dived in Fourth Quarter

Gov. Rick Perry has filed his year-end campaign finance totals with the Federal Election Commission. And it’s not pretty.

Poor debate performances and controversial ad campaigns appear to have done Perry no favors in the fundraising department. Perry collected only $2.9 million in the fourth quarter after having the strongest performance of the field in the third quarter, when he received $17.2 million in contributions and outraised all of his Republican opponents.

The campaign spent $14.2 million in the run-up to the Iowa caucuses, where Perry’s fifth-place finish with only 10 percent of the vote threw the campaign into a tailspin. Of that $14.2 million, $5.7 million was spent on media alone.

Although Perry ended 2011 with $3.7 million on hand, it is still unclear how much money Perry’s federal war chest has left after his final January push before bowing out on Jan. 19. At that time, Perry spokesman Ray Sullivan said the campaign had spent “the bulk of [its] funds.”

Perry is still required to return any funds that were given to him for the purpose of participating in the general election. These refunds could sap what money may be left.

The campaign also reported debts totaling $93,745 as of the end of the year. A majority of this money is owed to two companies — $49,841 to Advantage Inc. out of Virginia for printing and postage, and $42,903 to Norway Hill Associates Inc. in New Hampshire for web services.

In addition to releasing year-end totals, the campaign submitted a lobbyist bundling report for the end of the year, which represents $101,250 of the contributions in the final months of 2011. Jeffrey Miller, having collected $36,250, was the largest single bundler.

Hoboken Tells Snooki And JWoww To Stay Out

The mayor of Hoboken does not want Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jennifer “JWoww” Farley’s “Jersey Shore” spinoff. In a new letter to Jim Bianco and 495 Productions, Mayor Dawn Zimmer has officially denied the request to let the spinoff take place in Hoboken.

In the letter, Zimmer says the city has denied the request for a film permit.

“Based on protecting public safety and quality of life concerns for Hoboken residents, the city has denied a film permit for a spin-off of the ‘Jersey Shore’ to be filmed in public locations.”

In mid-January, MTV and 495 Production began scouting locations for Snooki and JWoww’s spinoff. The show featuring JWoww and Snooki was originally announced in April 2011, along with one following Pauly D and his DJ career.

“Always inseparable and ready to get the party started at the shore, viewers will get to see how they deal with life and love when the vacation is over in this 12-episode series,” a statement from MTV described JWoww and Snooki’s spinoff. “The locale may be different, but the friendship is sure to remain the same.”

Brandi Glanville: Eddie Cibrian Will Cheat On LeAnn Rimes

Once a cheater, always a cheater? That’s what Brandi Glanville is saying about ex-husband Eddie Cibrian, who is now happily married to country crooner LeAnn Rimes.

“He will be with her until he cheats again,” Glanville tells me. “They won’t be together forever. I’m totally over Eddie. I’ve moved onto Ken. Ken is a better looking Eddie,” she teased about fellow Real Housewife Lisa Vanderpump’s husband, Ken Todd.

But in actuality, Glanville said it hasn’t been easy having her husband leave her for another woman, especially when children are involved.

“We share custody, it’s difficult,” she said. “I think it was more difficult in the beginning to all of a sudden not be with your kids half the time. But now the kids are at my house and say, ‘can we go to dads?’ and when they are at their dad’s house they say, ‘can we go to moms?’”

And although it is awkward when both ladies are forced to interact for the sake of the ex-couple’s children, Glanville said her kids will always be more important than what she thinks about Rimes.

“It was my son’s last soccer game and [Rimes] was there,” she said. “Everyone is making a big deal of it because of the picture [which shows the ladies ignoring one another], but this has gone on for two-and-a-half years. So, for me, I really don’t put too much energy into it because it will eat you alive.”

Ringo Starr Talks Peace & Love With Russell Brand

Ringo Starr flashed the peace sign over and over Monday at the Troubadour in West Hollywood and even joked with his interviewer, Russell Brand, about what would happen if Brand didn’t display the sign as well. Peace and love is, still, what this Beatle is all about.

Starr was speaking to Brand and fans at a live “Town Hall” on SiriusXM as his new album, “Ringo 2012,” is released this week.

At the Town Hall, Starr told a fan, “In the dream I have, one minute, one day, one year, the whole world will go, ‘Peace and love’ at the same time and we’ll be OK,” the Examiner reports.

He also said that he’s been asked to write an autobiography but, “They really only want those eight years. And I say, ‘But there are 10 volumes before we get to that, and 20 afterwards,’” as Rolling Stone reports.

The drummer explained that “Ringo 2012″ allowed him to revisit the years of his past outside of the well-documented Beatles era. In the USA Today video below, he explains that he wanted to write the album’s “Liverpool” track because it’s where he grew up and spent 23 years of his life.

The Guardian gave “Ringo 2012″ a review of two stars out of five, saying the album sounds “a bit like the Beatles’ later output, albeit with their genius watered down to homeopathic levels” and missteps with “a clumsy version of Buddy Holly’s ‘Think it Over’ that never recovers from a spectacularly ill-conceived intro.” The Los Angeles Times was a bit more generous, giving two and half stars out of four and saying the album “yield[s] some modestly charming results.”

Listen to Ringo’s new Latin-infused track “Samba,” which he wrote with Beach Boys’ contributor Van Dyke Park, and to samples of the rest of “Ringo 2012″ tracks here. What’s your review?
